Our local club finally sold our project Farmall Cub that was restored with some 4-Her's a few years ago.In total 4500 was spent on it.They sold about 8000 dollars worth of tickets on it,with 4H getting close to 2000 out of it.It was won and bought back by the club for 2200.Another 7500 in tickets were sold this year.It was won again and the winner took the 2500 cash option. It was tendered off and a bid for 2222.22 was accepted. In total some 8922.22 profit was realized for the club off the little tractor. It was decided that the club needs a fresh idea for next year and I was wondering if some of you who belong to a club have had some sucessfull fundraiser ideas you would be willing to share.Thanks.

Heres some i have been involved in, but not nearly as much income as you state.

We hold a toy tractor auction, the toys are donated by local dealers, and the proceeds got towards scholarships for a FFA member. The schllarship amount changes yearly depending on the income we recieved.

The FFA alumni runs a tractor dyno at the local tractor show. we charge ten dollars to hook up.

I know a FFA group that host a farm machinery consignment auction.

Thats all i can think of right now.

Our club is involved with 4 different small shows. The past 2 years we have raffeled off a pedal tractor and cleared about $400 on each one. The tickets and printing were donated by a local bank in exchange for their name on each ticket.
We also have a food stand at a scenic drive location. Not too hard to prep food, clear about $8oo-$900 per weekend.

Wow, you did alright on the Cub!! When selling tickets, did you take the Cub with you to show it off, or just have a booth selling tickets? How much were the tickets selling for? I would like our club to do a calendar, but it's a pretty good expense for a small return. Chris

Our local club raffles a restored tractor each year. We use a smaller model of the featured brand. This year, 2010, we're featuring John Deere and raffleing a 2010. Last year was Ford and we raffled a restored 8N and an unrestored 9N. D10 in AC year, MM V in MM year, etc. Made money on all of them.

I know of a FFA club that drives around witha gravity box wagon during harvest and stops farmers when they are combining and asks them for donations. When wagon is full they just haul to elavator. Amazing how much they get!

Yup,the cub always went where there was a stand set up.All the members had 10 each to sell on their own.Tickets were 10 bucks ea.They were set up at any public inveted club event, the president has an equipment yard,so it was always there with tickets forsale. He had an annual spring auction, they were onsale those days too_Our club had a calender this year.If the last of them sell, they will have 600 profit, they are at a break even now.Keeping an active club in the black takes alot of hard work, usually by too few of hands.I see in our club, there are very few younger members. Most of them have young families and are busy carting young'ns to sports, keeping the wife happy, and working.Free time is very limited. There are alot of older guys too that have health issues. But in the end it seems to get done, but unfortunatly by the same fairly small group of individuals.
