Hopefully someone can help. I'm rebuilding a mf35 turf special and can't figure out the year and motor combo. The serial number is ugf656000233. The motor is a z145 with a 3 speed x2 tranny. From my research mf35's did not come with that motor and turf specials were only made in 63/64. The tractor is yellow. Is it possibly not the original motor How would I then know if all the motor parts are original or can they be interchanged with z134's. Thanks anything would help.

The 2135 turf special used the Z145 engine. I think the Z145 is just a bigger bore but otherwise pretty much the same as the Z134. You should ask on the MF forum, there's some really knowledgeable folks on there. Dave

We had a 35 turf special, and it had a 4 cylinder contentinal motor. Is that what yours has? Dont know other than that.

Hi Mark, Yours is actually a 1962 (s/n 0000233)
early and not too many built. The eng originally
would have been a Z134, must have been upgraded.
The UGF stands for: Utility/Gas/Single clutch.
Never understood why they didn't use S for single
and D for dual clutch but?? Chuck
