Had to bust her losse and rebuild carb sat for 7 years.

1947 John deere B , Got two tractors to make one . My son was a Deere nut untill we put it back to gather after it was taken apart 29 years ago . We used it this year to bail hay this hay season. When we went thru two head gaskets before I found out the M&W pistons were high comp. when we put in the new rings .

Big blocks of wood behind them. That was a big surprise on how wide the tractor was when we went to get her.Had to do some quick thinking hauled it 45 miles that way.

... you could have backed onto the trailer, got the back wheels over the fenders and not had to haul it like that?

Ya told my Dad we should limit our travel distance he said we would make it.Got home without any problems.

My oldest is a 1935 JD-B serial number 9405 my grand father got it in 1940 and has been in the family ever since. I even have the owners manual that came with it when new. The picture is my son/step son driving it is the parade of power at my local shoe so that puts 4th generation on it and hope he will be sure to put the 5th on it one day

My oldest isn't all that old- It's a '55 WD45. My uncle bought it new (I still have the original paperwork) and my dad farmed with it after we bought out the uncle. It was a stuck rusty mess when dad gave it to me. I couldn't stand to let it rot any further, so we restored it about 5 or 6 years ago. Got it done for father's day and surprised dad with it. I play with the others, but this one sits. I've got more in it than it will probably ever be worth, but of course that wasn't the point.

Pic is a 1937 AC WC, before the fenders went on. Also have a 1937 JD Model B, in many pieces, waiting patiently.

Mine is a 1923 Holt T-35 crawler. Paid one dollar for it from a friend and ran it up onto the trailer. Overhead cam engine on these machines, pretty neat!

The oldest on our farm is my '63 Oliver 1600. Was Grandpa's, he bought it new in '64. The newest is our Massey 285. I think it's a '78.

We've got equipment both older and newer, but I think most of our equipment falls in that same range.

1927 McCormick Deering 15-30. Bought it at an auction in 1999 for $600. Was missing the magneto, but the motor turned over and seemed to have good compression. Fuel tanks were rusted and radiator had a few cuts that looked like they were done with an ax. Put an E4 mag on it and set the timing, cleaned out the carb and rigged up a temporary gas tank, patched the radiator with JB Weld, and got it running nicely. Started it by running a belt, pulley to pulley, from a Farmall M. Lot easier than pull starting. Got a different radiator to put on sometime, but haven't worked on it for a few years. I'll have to get it out and drive around the yard this spring.
