Need help with JD 4430 Hydraulics

I have two ports out back and two levers inside that contol the loader. I know that you could order these tractors new with 3 ports and three levers. What I want to do is get a two spool valve and add two more ports. These ports will be used at seperate times so there wont be any pull from the pump that isnt normal. Question is where to I tap in for the pressure and return going into the two spool valve that I have. Thanks Guys

I added the third remote to 30, 40, and 50 series JD. If I remember right, I had to change the second block to a different style, and the third bolted onto that one- providing the oil passage to the third. If you are adding another generic double valve, you could plug into an existing remote for oil, but your net gain would be one remote.

There should be a way to hook up the loader another way with the steering or at the steering cylinder so you have the loader hydraulics and run them off a joystick, then your two remotes are free to use for implements.

Reid, if you already have a valve for your loader it is a simple matter to do what you want to do. Just ask for a Power Beyond block that goes between the hydraulic valve body and it's mounting plate. This will give you another constant pressure port and will not affect that outlet. Mike

I looked at that option. Not sure if I want to dump all that money into one. But then again maybe I should, after buying the two spool valve and all the lines it will probably end up costing me just as much if not more for the multiplier.

If I understand this correctly. You are using two scv's to operate a loader and require another scv for a cultivator etc?

The solution is a proper dedicated joystick for the loader and the rear scv's have nothing what so ever to do with the loader.
The loader joystick would supplied from a "Power Beyond" circuit which sounds intimidating but isn't. It's just tapping into the high pressure hydraulics prior to the scv valves. Reduces flow restriction too.
The simplest way to return the oil from the loader joystick to the trans filter is through a ported filter cover.
Dumping the return oil straight into the trans case. Will limit oil flow to the front pump. As the trans pump was undersized to begin with. And now it has to try and support loader flow as well as a worn and seeping quad range trans clutch packs.
In fact Deere makes oversize replacement trans pumps for that very reason.

When/if you do get that joystick valve, be sure you get one compatible with a closed-center hydraulic system. If you don't know what that means, just mention that it goes on a JD tractor. The seller should know what to give you.

Why bother with the trouble/expense of a ported filter cover when the Power-Beyond block has a "return oil port" designed by JD engineers built into it?

I should have elaborated and explained farther.
In case he went "Power Beyond Type" with just a T somewhere for high pressure oil. Then a ported filter cover would be required.
If a real Power Beyond was used on a scv that did run the return oil into the filter. Instead of the scv with the one way cylinder option which dumps oil to the trans case.
