I need help figuring this one out. I start my 3020 gas and it starts up fine and runs fine. When I turn on my lights the lights ared dim and the tractor looses power and dies. Generator?? Voltage reg.?? I cleaned the grounds on my battery and lights, etc. Replaced the light switch(it needed it anyway) but so far nothing. Im stumped..

"Follow the power" from the battery cable terminal on the starter solenoid to the ignition switch.

There's a poor connection or a weak circuit breaker in there somewhere. (Can't remember for sure if the ignition circuit has a breaker.)

There's a multiple-pin electrical connector at the rear of the hood/front of the dash cowling area, OFTEN the source of poor connections on these tractors.

Remove the cowling and inspect the connector's "pins".

You may have to unbolt/unlatch the hood and lift it a little at the back.

In some versions of the 3020 there's that connector. Early versions didn't have it. There were at least four different wiring harnesses used over the production of the '20 tractors.
