Windows Vista and XP both had a feature where you could send a short cut to the desktop.
File...Send short cut to desktop

I can not find this in Windows 7.

Can anyone help me with this???

PS... I did find under the Page tab send by email but no shortcut to desktop.

Thanks

John: You should be able to just create a shortcut and then either drag it to the desktop or copy and paste it there.

Create a desktop shortcut for an IE8 favourite do this:

1. Open IE8.
2. Make sure that the favourites bar is visible on the left.
3. Make sure that IE8 is not maximised.
4. Use the right mouse button to drag the chosen favourite onto the desktop.
5. When prompted, select "Create shortcut".

Is this what you do?

If not then please describe your method in detail. Does the problem exist for all favourites or just for some?
