Switch grass to attract pheasants

Switch grass is excellent winter cover as it stands up well to snow. But it takes more than that. They also need legumes and forbs for brood cover; legumes attract insects that chicks need for protein. I've always found my best pheasant hunting in shorter grass. They like to be able to see over the grass. Google pheasant habitat for more information.
