1 have a 1985 f150 with a 351w and its missin i have put all new wires and plugs and when it was idling i would pull one wire at a time and one of them dont change the tone of the idle could that be a burned valve or something or could it be the distributer

i got a '85 F150 with 302 my dad bought new...its sat a few times and everytime i put it back on the road a exhaust valve sticks and bends the push rod...usually i can tap the valve stem on top and get it freed up.
could be dist cap arcing too.

Try another wire, but prolly won't do any good. Just pull your cap and look at it. You'll prolly find that tip corroded real bad or gone. Best is to replace the cap but maybe you can just clean it.

ok thank all of yall for yalls help and it would make a spark if it was tha valve wouldent it and it all happend rite after my uncle did a tune up on it

not hitting on all eight.
Save your self a lot of trouble.
First thing Pull a compression check.
if you have burnt valve bad head gasket low compression.
replacing all the parts on the out side will not make it run right. till the compression problem
is is taken care of

if a tune up was done. check to make sure the plug wires are all on the right spot. im not saying anyone didnt know what they were doing. it happens. could just have 2 wires crossed or something simple like that.

Did you look inside your cap? Are you fixed now? If it's not sparking, fix the spark and see if you still have a problem. Bet you don't.
