A Better 3pt Drawbar Design for Tractors

This 3pt drawbar was an accessory from CASE for their eagle hitch tractors. As you see, it also utilizes the top link. When pulling a load it applies down pressure to the front of the tractor via the top link. It raises plenty high for pull type equipment and the ridgid eagle hitch arms did not require sway bars or stay chains to support the hitch. Much safer.

As far as I can tell its no safer that a normal fixed drawbar, probably worse as it sticks so far back heavy tongue loads will require more front weights to counter.

the 3 point hitch of ford ferguson, swayed from side to side. This allowed the 3 point imp to FOLLOW the front tires. True.

That is a better rig than the typical 3pt drawbar, but almost as useless.

Only a fool would rely on a 3pt drawbar to do any serious work.

The forerunner to the Quick Hitch just needs refined. I always liked that Eagle hitch though sure saved trying to square and center up to 3pth equipment so lift arms could swing out far enough to clear the pins. Don't know about only a fool uses the 3 point hitch most JD folding planters use the 3pth can't remember if Kinze does or not.

I agree with you, But it sure is handy when moving equipment out of or into the barns and how many people with Ford and Fergusen tractors have been injured when skidding logs? Case had a fixed drawbar for pulling implements. This was an inhansment, not designed to do daily drawbar chores like the 2pt.cross bar on 8N's was
