This Buick LeSabre sold at an estate auction that My MIL went to. 17,000 original owner miles, and just a real beauty.

She said it went for $7,700.

I think if I was there and I had the money, I woulda bought it for that price... First car was a 66 Bel-Air so I guess I'm kinda partial to the year.

Thats a beauty. There is a 1971 Ford Maverick going to be sold on Hansenandyoung.com monthly auto auction in May. Only 194xx miles. Says its all original. Looks like a beauty to.Nice to see some of them old cars.

That's a really nice car. Even though it's before my time, I would drive that to classic car shows and get ice cream with the kids on Sunday afternoons in it!

Wonder what one that nice would of sold for if it was a 2 dr. ? 2x , 3x that much ? or more ?

Here's a couple on Craigs lists, cheap and rough and you could easily have $7000 in them to restore, if that's the kind of car you want.
One's $1100 and the one pictured is $600

The problem is that nobody wants a 71 Maverick unless it's the grabber model. My mom had a 71 Maverick that my Grandpa bought new. It had a 200 6 in it and was really good on gas but no heat in the winter. It was sold in the 80's for around $1500 with only 42,000 original miles. Dave

Didja know that was the model Ford-sponsored drag racers ran in (?) '72, with 351 Cleveland power? That would be a real sleeper at stoplights!

Not Sure But I would Bet it sold for under 3grand new in 66, My 69 Mercury Marquis convertible list priced for over 5 grand When new..Got it in 74 for a whole lot less and a lotta new had been used up LOL ... On Mothers day 1970 , Dad Bought Mom a NEW Galaxie 500 4 dr for a Flat 3 Grand . He Got a heck of a deal , I recall His 69Ford 3/4,360 4speed Cost $4200,. It didn't seem to take a lotof Hoggs to pay for it back then ,, But I certainly Learned that Every pig saved and Every litter weaned , Counted up good when the check Came back from ArMours

No idea where it went or who bought it. Pretty sure it was just a guy looking for a nice car though.

On a side note- Would that have had the 455 in it, or a small block? Ny brother's got an '81 Cutlas w/ a Buick 455 BB in it. Doesn't run yet, just needs a new gas tank and timing. Been sitting for the last several years that way too. I think he bought it when he was 15 or 16, he'll be 28 this May....
