Murray lawnkeeper broke already

I just got a murray lawnkeeper from my neighbor yesterday and its already broke. I brought it out from under my deck and into the garage to work on it out of the rain and as i pulled into the garage it sounded like something slipped and it stalled.I tried to get it to start again but it wouldnt crank over. waiting for some help from my dad. maybe he Knows whats wrong

You did check the oil before starting it ?
A Doctor frind asked me to look at his mower,
because it wouldn't start after he shut it off.
No oil on the dipstick !It froze up and siezed
when shut off!..Brillant Doctor..no common sense.
Didn't know that you had to check, or add oil!

yeah i did check oil a couple times i changed it again afterwards too and it still will not start
