gas tank kotings +E-85

Anyone Know anything about this ..
?... My tanks that I have personally used RED -KOTE on seem to be holding up ,,At least ,. for Now ...Since last fall , Been using E-85 in all My gassers with No ill result until now , in HOT WEATHER ,, It seems that 15-20 yrs ago The 1st tanks I had coated ( I recall a GREEN Coating ?) at a local radiator shop...NOW there seems to be leaving a heavy gooey tar residue in the sediment bulb and plugging the drain of the 1sdt tanks I had coated ,,, Engines run fine other than starving for fuel as the line gums up ...usually the e-85 cleans everthing it comes in contact ,,Thanx Guys

E-85 will draw moisture right out of the air. It can form that gooey mess you are talking about. Might be your coating, but good chance it's just moisture. The water turns acidic and does an "anticleaning" of your system.

I did a Red Coat last summer and it is still turning the gas red. The only gas in MO is at least 10% ethanol.

I let My tanks set for a week with a lite bulb under them ... triple the suggested curing time,, no problem with new red-kote ,, called red -Kote This evening , . they refered Me to Chemist who Was Out , Company is very concerned and told me to expect call in AM .. They URGED ME TO PUSH FOR A ANSWER ..

Spoke with the Red -Kote chemist Today ,, Claimed He is running a ongoing test and has had E-85 ethanol in a Redkoted tank for 18 monthes with no chemical reaction . My red-kote tanks are holding up fine also .Remember i suspected it to be a GREEN coating applied 15 or more years ago , He knows the history and weaknes of the coating, and is not sure if the green is dissolving ,. After speaking with him i am partially thinking the filth is just sediment and filth in all my containers ect and fuelhandling hoses ???.. time will tell ...
