Went to Biltmore estate, Ashville, NC today. They have large bottom land along 2 rivers. No till corn up about 1 foot. No till soybeans has 2 leaves.

Fescue hay cut yeaterday, estate employee said they were going to put up round bale silage. There has been a lot of rain in this area, so that is a good timesaver.

Employee lives in Ashville, I live in SC, ran into 3 nice ladies from South central IL on the shuttle bus, all of us agreed that these Canada geese that stay around all year in our respective areas are a royal pain. Canada, could you come get your geese back?

I looked at the crops at Brandon plantation on the James across from Jamestown the corn is 5 to 6 ft and the wheats heads are starting to turn down . looks like it has been a good year for them . I'll bet you could Google earth the Plantation

KEH,
I always love going to Biltmore, And still go there when I can afford to pay admission. Geese are a nuisance here as well they live around golf neighborhoods. My niece is thinking about starting a business that would alleviate the problem. The only thing she does not have is a good recipe for cooking them.

Consider them a gift LOL. Anyhow I seen a company near where i lived put out decoys that looked like some geese that were killed. They said that geese get upset over seeing their kind dead and won"t go near them. The only thing is if it"s a big area then you will need a bunch of them to do the job. Also the decoys have to be moved quite frequently so as to make it look more realistic. How good it works, well, I"m just telling what i have seen and was told. Good luck.

PS, I wouldn"t walk across the street for a free meal of goose, so some else can have my share.

Have a great day
Brian
