Being the gentleman I am (wink wink) I'm taking that lucky woman, my "First Wife" on her Fortieth Anniversary RV Road trip out West, including but not limited to: Monument Valley Arizona,,,,Glen Canyon Dam,,,,Bryce Canyon,,,Salt Lake City,,,,Crater Lake,,,,Portland,,,,Mt Rainier,,,,Seattle,,,,Vancouver BC,,,,Glacier Natl Park,,,,Beartooth Scenic Highway,,,,Yellowstone,,,,The Grand Tetons,,,,Rocky Mtn Natl Park,,,,Back Home again in Indiana.

We will be staying at Natl Parks, Army Corps of Engineer Camps, National Forest Camps, maybe a Wal Mart or Flying J along the way. The RV is full of gas and propane, 70 gal fresh water, holding tanks empty, ready to rock n roll.

Theres not much opportunity for Internet, heck in some places we will be in Idaho and Montanna and Wyoming they barely have runnin water n electricity.

See yall when I return

God Bless

Would be happy to host you to a coffee, or lunch, or dinner, or a bottle of Jack, or whatever, if you pass through Chehalis, WA (half way between Portland and Seattle on I-5) at a reasonable hour . Chehalis does have a WalMart- they'll let you stay for free if you'll keep an eye out for lowlifes trying to steal their shrubs. Mr work phone is (360) 748-0248, home is (360) 748-8026. We could talk about legal stuff. Or tractors. Or fast women. Or whatever. You could even log on to Tractor Talk at my office and answer those pesky adverse possession questions AGAIN, if you want. Or not.

Have a great vacation. The Mrs. and I won't be celebrating our 40th until next February, so we're just kids compared to you.

Sounds like fun. In the morning we board a plane bound for Rapid City SD. We will be motel hopping the west side of the state for two weeks. Lot of ground to cover.......

Those are some great destinations you have picked out. I've been lucky enough to visit most of them. One spot I see that you left off you destinations in the SW is Zion Canyon. Bryce is ok, but you walk around for 45 minutes or an hour, and you've pretty much seen it. Zion has a whole lot more to offer.

There are a million places in the west to visit, sounds like you'll hit the high points...
Included a couple of pics I took. One shot of Zion, and one of the Grand Canyon, from the bottom. I've never seen it from the top side...

Just my 2 cents.

Just celebrated our 44th; we 'did' much of your trip about 20 years ago and hope to do it again someday............while we're still able. Would like to hear more about Mike's "fast women" discussion.........

Have a good one John and congratulations!

Jim

PS: If you pass a kruser on I-74/474 around Peoria, IL - might be me.

cabello"s stores usually have an rv area dumpstation and fresh water we stayed with them as much as possible last year

John,
Here is the camper that you need. It even has a sun deck on top. You might not be able to maneuver it around in those campsites though.
Have a good trip and take good care of your first wife.)

John,
You will be about 100 miles from me when you are in East Glacier. Enjoy the park and "going to the sun" highway. Bud

John T.,

If you happen to go north from Salt Lake City on I-15, pop over the mountain (about 25 mi. out of your way) to Logan, home of Utah State Univ. and one of the prettiest little college towns in the country. You would be welcome to park your rig at my place overnight (electric and water hook-up, no sewer, tho.) and have a cup of coffee with us. Give me a call if this would work for you: 435-770-3376.

If you find yourself in Cody wy the nightly roedo is well worth seeing. have a safe trip. Tho I question the wisdom of advertising it so much. If i did that on my trips I would have too many stow- aways

John, don't forget to go in to S. Dakoda and see Mt Rushmore. Crazy Horse is a waste of time and money, nothing but a tourist trap.

Have a safe a enjoyable trip.

Reminds me of that movie with Robin Williams were they go cross country in an RV. Hope it goes better for you than in the movie.
Wish I could go

If you end up around Las Vegas, stay OUT of the casinos and check out Red Rock Canyon on the west side of town and there is a state parl NE of Vegas called the valley of fire that is a must see. Also our favorite spot in the area is Tecopa, Calif (on SE side of Death Valley that has many natural hot mineral springs with rv camping real cheap and does it ever feel good to soak in those waters! Nearby is the little town of Shoshone with a little restr. that sells cheeseburgers for less than their hamburgers. They are great! Say hello to the waitress Naomi, kind of crabby but cute. (I think its called the Crowbar)

ouch, you missed Bryce if you only stayed an hour...go down into the canyon...like Mr. Bryce said, "It"s a hell of a place to lose a cow"...

Wife and I did a trip from the Palms Springs area in California to central North Dakota a few years back. Our favorite spot on the trip was Mesa Verde Natl Park in southwest Colorado. There's a boatload of Anasazi ruins there, and we wish we could have stayed longer.

Saturday afternoon would be the time- Chehalis is south of where you would head east to Mt. Rainier. Don't know what the social director has planned, but it won't cost much to call, if it works in with your schedule.

My daughter and I visited Victora, B.C. and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you have time and inclination----

Expect the business is still there----whale watching business in Seattle will outfit you with a pager and after their crew spots whales you are paged and are taken out to see them. Allowed X amount of time to arrive at the dock for transport.

Enjoy your trip.

John, if you are over 62 obtain a "Senior Pass" at the first National park for $10. It will let you in all the other National parks for FREE!

We have probably been to every place you and/or the others have mentioned by now. Everybody has favorites but I would allow extra time for Yellowstone if it suits you, other than Vegas thats the one we would revisit.
