OT: Question for the ladies of YT

My wife enjoys quilting. She quilted this babies quilt and matching Dollie and quilt for our niece who is expecting in July.I keep telling my wife she should consider selling some of her quilt work.
But she told me she does not have a clue as to how to price her works accordingly. The dimensions on this set is baby quilt 40"x40"
Dollie 12" and Dollie"s quilt 18"x18"
Any and all comments would be appreciated.
Thanks Tony

I'm not much on quilting, but if you are anywhere near an Amish community or some place that sell a lot of crafts, you ought to do some browsing and see what the locals are charging. Also try Ebay or Craigslist. Some craft stores might take her work on consignment. Good luck!

Not sure why you'd call me a "lady of YT", but anyway.............are you familiar with Etsy? It's an on-line auction similar to e-bay, except all the items are hand-made; might get an idea of prices/values.........

My wife also quilts but doesn't sell any quilts . All her quilts are hand quilted a few lucky family members get them for gifts. such as wedings and new babys. People don't realize how much labor and money goes into one of those things she has some that she has over $400 in material alone.

My mother has been quilting for years. Has she looked for and quilting guilds in the area or on line they will sometimes have shows and sales. Also find small quilt shops and ask to sell on consignment. I don't think quilters ever get the true value of their work most folks are too happy buying sweat shop items and never see the quality that is in some hand quilted items. Do it for the joy not money. Much like farming nowadays.

I phound a picture of myselph in a bonnet made in the mid-70s when I'se younger and better looking........

Wife makes quilts with various machine embroidery blocks on them. Made me one with 121 various tractors and farm machines. Just gave one to our niece for a graduation gift, had 45 different daisy designs on it... Makes them in a checkerboard pattern with patterns on alternating squares.

Made one with 100 light houses on it, donated it to her church - auctioned for $500, about what she had in it.
