LX 565 skidloader parking brake

I got q New Holland LX565 skidloader qand the parking break doesn"t work. I would like it to work as I sometimes have to loader skidloader on trailer etc.... I looked at the linkage according to the book and adjusted it to 6 inches like the manual said but they still don"t work. It appears that the spring needs to be longer but I can"t because the nut is already at the end of the bolt on each end. The brakes do work if I disconnect and engage them far enough with the rod being connected. Has anybody else had this problem before. Any help would be great. I can order new springs but I don"t see how that would help.

Thanks in advance guys.

The nuts are on the end of the bolt and it appearts I have to make them longer but I can't because I'm out of thread. Thanks for the idea.

You've got to pull the adjustment lever off the brake screw and get it on a another spline or mabey 2 splines further up. The linkage length never changes.
It's a pain in the hole.

I'm fairly sure it's the same setup as my LS170... so if it is, look at the lever thats on the brake shaft/screw. You should see or feel a set screw that holds the lever on the shaft. Slack that off. Then you want to unhook the spring/actuator rod from this lever. Pull the lever up some to set the brake fairly snug, then push it back down to release it some... then you should be able to pull the lever off the shaft. Reinstall the lever on another spline roughly where it needs to be to rehook the actuator rod/spring. Tighten the set screw again and you should be done...
