I'm helping a friend that has recently started a business and bought a used Peterbilt. I picked it up for him, then took it to Petebilt to get the list of problems fixed. They took care of almost everything except for an awful rattle. It sounds like the doors are falling off. I have been over it multiple times on the two day drive back and since I got it out of the shop. I am looking for a forum to go to where I could get pointed in the right direction.

Or you can try aths.org/com??--one of them is a truck site, and while it says historical it's mostly modern trucks in the forums (Pete's are all modern)...

might help, if its a late model peterbilt and it only rattles on the road, look at the right hand door lock rod, to check, when you have the rattle going, reach over and lock the door, if the rattle changes or stops, thats what it is, the company i haul for has had 2 late model petes do that a 379, and a 330, same problem on both trucks, to fix, take door apart and bend the rod slightly or put a rubber gromet on the rod, but make sure it doesnt bind

I am by no means a Pete expert as myself i don't care much for them , but i had a bad rattle and vibration on a 98 9400 binder that drove me goofy. Checked everything in the drive line that we could think of but the ride hight and found that it was and inch off only one inch and once we set it to the correct hight everything went away

Vet, we had that happen with a 90 9300 day cab. Sounded like the tranny was going out but all it took to fix it was an air bag adjustment.
