Awful Service from Country Sales And Service/Maxiforce

I bought a short block from Country Sales and Service out of Orville Ohio. The motor lasted less than 30 hrs and spun the center bearing on the counter balance shaft. I tore the engine down to the point of removing the defective shaft and had a local John Deere service department verify the shaft. They had checked the shaft and stated it was bent beyond their tolerance for re-use. The service technician even came to the house to look at the engine a little closer and said the bearings showed all the signs of a bent counter balance shaft which it what caused the center bearing to spin out of the block. Anyone who has ever dealt with building engines know that when a bearing spins it will create debris in the oil. With this being said, Country Sales and Service Rep wanted me to send them the defective parts so they could send them to there warranty company Maxiforce out of Miami Fla. In Maxiforces review and statement concerning the defective parts, Maxiforce even stated the shaft was bent, but it would be up to them and Country Sales and Service for the replacment of the parts. Well guess what, they have said they won't cover any of the damage because there was debris in the oil. (Well no kidding)Spun Bearing guys!! The main bearings and rod bearings are inpregenated with debris, but was caught soon enough not to cause damage to the crank. Country Sales said they no longer put re-conditioned shafts in there engines because of situations like this. They supposedly stand behind their Quality Work and Parts ~Bull~~~T! If any one else is looking to purchase anything from these Jokers ~ You may want to think again. I could go on the tell more crap they did from the beginning but I think I got the message across. Sorry to everyone, just had to vent!

That sounds to me like the standard store and company line to deny a claim. That tune usually changes when they receive a letter from your attorney displaying the evidence in legal terms and proposing a rapid settlement so as to avoid the protracted discovery process of litigation.

If you'll notice they are no longer allowed to run ads in Green Magazine and I think they may have lost advertising priveliges in 2 cylinder magazine as well.

If you can talk to the parts guy you may be OK. If you have to talke to John you are screwed. He is a know-it-all snit. He has become a thief as well. I wont order from there again. I've heard lots and lots of nasty stories since my last dealings. If you do your research you will find exactly what kind of reputation this guy has.

I"m with Kyhayman. If the loss is substantial, I"d get an atty to write a letter. Might cost you $50.00.

If they peaved me enough, I"d do it no matter what the amount.

I plan on speaking with an attorney tomorrow. The money is a big deal but it isn't. It's the principal behind the warranty and the run around with them and the excuses behind not standing behind the products they sell. This ordeal has been going for several weeks. Sorry to ramble on, but i'm just a little P'd off and don't want to see someone else get the shaft.
