Making fence in wet ground

I NEED to remake some fence that is in wet ground. I want to put up barbed wire. It is not an option to wait until it dries off as it is never dry in this area. Do any of you guys have any tips. I have one strong wood post to pull from but that is it. Usually I would do four steel then a wood but I don't think that this will work here due to the wet conditions. I have about 60 yards to fence. Any tips would be good.

Any chance you could do some grading and move the wet spot away from the fence, or maybe haul in some dirt and build up the fence right of way?

I have quite a bit of fence that goes through very wet ground. My advice is to not use wood posts at all they always float right out. Use all 7ft T-posts. For the corners, use old well pipe sections braced together. It's worked well for us.

Get some yeller plastic gas main pipe, cut into fence post length, and violer, as the french say, waterproof fence!

For the most part your line post just hold the fence up . The braces on each end is what keeps it tight , got to have good braces that wont move . Tractor supply and other stores carry 8 ft. t-post that you can really sink in the ground . If you think you need it concret a well pipe or two in the line , weld some ears on it or a plate on the bottom so they cant slip in the cement . If you think your post hole is deep enough dig it another foot .

I use real heavy post and back fill hole with gravel since you can't pack the muck. The most important thing is bracing correctly and they should not move. I like the T-post idea. I did use the wedge Loc' system you can buy at TSC to brace T-post years ago in a swamp and it is still together, fast and easy. The big thing people often don't do with the T-post brace kits is they forget to tie them together with brace wire, if you don't do that then you can get the braces blowing apart. I have also used the 1 1/4" fiberglass sucker rod with chain link fence brace cups in wet areas and made a floating brace and hung 2 strands high tensile. I hardly sink wood post anymore.

I have about the exact same situation. I'm going this week to try to talk to someone at the state or county highway dept. I was told they will sell used sign posts. They are very heavy U-post that are up to 14' long. I hope I can get some.

I used 18" telephone poles and went 5' deep at each end I need to pull from. Properly brace those. Use T posts long enough to get into solid ground. I used 8' galvanized t posts and ran them 3-1/2 feet into the ground.
