I been on and off e-bay for sometime {years} and I just DON"t understand ... HOW CAN a SELLER CANCEL your BID ??
I was under the understanding if a item was BID ON .. it had to run the time out ...
Got woke up TODAY .. 2 items I bid on [ same seller } CANCEL me and others OUT ..w/less than 48 hours left .. I'm pretty sure it's because hes not getting the $$$ he wants .... but thats what RESERVE PRICE is for .. he doesn't use it ..

I try to get ahold of e-bay ... not sure if they want to hear me .. or what ..

Anyway ... I'm I RIGHT or WRONG on removeing an item w/BIDS ???

Was THINKING if that's the case ... WHY use RESERVE ?? just remove it ... if it's not bringing enough $$$ ....

SORRY for the long post ... it just P... ME and had rant about it ...

Well, sometimes they have it for sale locally and reserve the right to cancel. Could this have been the case?

Yes it did say that .... but then WHY USE RESERVE ??
Anybody can say it's for sale local and then PULL it if it's NOT bringing ENOUGH $$$ ...

Do you see what I'm trying to say ...

You are no longer allowed to state in your auction that the item is for sale locally and you reserve the right to end the bidding early. Apparently ebay doesn't catch every auction, but they got one of mine and cancelled the item.

I have found that alot of people just use ebay for low cost advertising. I have found this true on lots of skidsteers and attachments. They list the item with a low starting price, then negotiate with potential bidders. They make a deal and end the auction, saving the fees. It actually kind of dumb because most of the bidding is usually done in the last 20 seconds. I have seen many skidsteers just by 3-5k in the last 20 seconds. I dont get too attached to any thing on ebay cause it might be gone tomorrow...

Ebay rules clearly states a buyer can cancel bids if item is no longer for sale. I have in the past but if reserve is met I will not end auction early. I have been selling for quite awhile on ebay, and I am one of the few that has not had any problems.Better knock on would on that comment or it will bite me in the arse !!!I know it can be frustrating I have had it happen to me a few times. I recently have started listing everything no reserve high bidder gets it!! Some times you win sometimes you lose its just a gamble ,anymore ,main thing is honesty if everyone would list honestly and disclose all problems it would be so much more simple !!

I sell on ebay, and have cancelled bidders before, as well have some blocked so they can never bid on items I have for sale.

The worse are when I sell a car or truck or tractor or such. Weirdos and I guess kids come out of the woodwork, posting absurd bids. They have zero feedback and have no intentions of ever paying. They are just having fun mucking it up. So I cancel bids on folks with zero feedback, unless they talk to me and let me know they are in fact real.

But, you're likely right, yours and the others were cancelled because the price didn't go high enough. Though normally they let it run longer because most of the bidding takes place at the end.

I don't bid on items that say for sale locally and can cancel anytime. They say that for an excuse to cancel if they think the bid is too low.
