Sure beats cuttin and housin Burley.I miss the smell of it curing in the barn, (air cured), but not the hand labor.
 
Went to an auction last Saturday. Had 5 wooden tobbacco presses & they couldn't get a bid on them. We sure don't have anyone around here that uses that modern machinery like you guys do and not many even raising it anymore. Like the pics. Keith
 
Wow, a lot different than the we do it here in Connecticut. We treat each shade leaf like its gold.....

No wonder my Pall Mall don't taste like they used to. It says right on the box premium tobacco. I remember my grandfather expected everybody that worked in his tobacco to treat each leaf like it might be a silk handkerchief, and don't blow your nose on it. I guess when you don't have to put your commodity on the floor next to your neighbors and see whose will bring the best price you don't have to be so particular.
