Are they a thing of the past or what? everything around my area is online auctions NW Wisconsin whats it like in your area?

Have them all the time in my area. When I have the extra $$ I go to them a lot and buy a lot of the cheap bargain deals. Still have a O-2 tank I got at one of the last auctions I went to here in the house. It is one for breathing and is full cost me with a bunch of other stuff $3

they still have 'live' autions here.the're a LARGE social event. In fact, sometimes the're more socializers than buyers!

Would make me sad. Lose fun hobby of mine. Attending auctions. Tho a computer nerd, I can't get into the on-line autions, just not the same.

Only the multi million dollars auctions with out of state auctionere do the on line auction.

Not many farm auctions any more because there are very few small farms left around here. On the rare occasion there is a farm auction in this area they are live or combination of live/internet. The big auction companies might have started the internet auction trend but many small local auctioneers do them too. Adding internet bidding to live auctions is a great way to increase your selling prices on good items.

In ohio there's probably 50 a week within 100 miles of me.If you look at auction zip.com you'll see hundreds a week all over.

went to one yesterday, and got a couple of great bargains. It was awesome the way they handled the wagons loads of small stuff, let people pick out items of interest to bid on, then when that petered out, they sold the entire wagon load, or front half, and back half for one bid. I have left many auctions in disgust, running out of patience on all the miscellaneous junk.
