A friend has a F150 4 x 4. The front wheel bearing are going bad. I have never worked on one and have no idea what it takes to get it apart. They want $250 for a new hub with bearings. He needs to replace both front wheel bearings. Is there a way to press the old bearings out and install new bearings in the old hub or will he have to pay $500 just for the parts? Thanks for any help. George

I have an '04 F-250, from what I've been reading about them my front hubs are closer to $350 ea. and you need to replace the whole assembly, I just hit 102k and don't need them yet, I'm sure I will soon. I have to replace the ball joints again next spring, I'll be looking at the wheel bearings real close when I have it all apart.

You didn't mention the year. I bought new front hub-bearing assemblies for a 2004 Ford F150 from Rock Auto. They were $125 each, which is still too much in my opinion. I'll take an older truck any day, with bearings and races that are adjustable and easily changed.

Yea you have to replace the whle thing, no way around it, simple job to do, pull the tire off, take the brakes off, then you take the brake caliper mounting bracket off, and then the four bolts for the hub assembly and off it comes. done it many times. something all of the auto campoanyies did, well ford chev-dodge any way, just anothr way to get more money out of us.

Ebay, Look for seller "Detroitaxle". I have bought 3 front hubs with bearings. Very good price.Very good service. Fast shipping.
