I know this is probably a longshot, but does anyone out there have a wiring diagram for a deutz d4006? Thanks for the help.

I am sure I have 1 I was a Deutz dealer from '75 til'82 what part are you having trouble with on your 4006? send me your snail mail address and I will look thru my stuff.

Thanks,

I am not sure exactly. I got a hold of my dad"s 4006 that was sitting for about a year with a missing hydraulic line. I replaced the line and got it running, but I must have a short somewhere because if it sits for several days, the battery is dead. Most of the wires are brittle, so I was going to attempt to rewire it, but would like to have at least somewhat of a roadmap. I am only worried about getting the ignition and charging system going...no lights or gauges. I did replace the starter switch and this may have caused the problem...it appeared like the original switch had three poles and not two like the starter switch i got from the local parts store. Anyway...that"s what I am up to. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I like the little tractor..its a pretty honest citizen. Thanks,

The poles on the pull out starter switch are: Hot from the key switch, power to the intake manifold preheater 1st stop, when pulled out , and to the starter solonoid thru the neutral safety switch on the transmission 2nd stop, when pulled out.Disconect the battery ground cable next time you park it for a few days and see if the battery still goes dead. Most of the electrical problems on them will be in the places where the wires are plugged into switches, lights,or the fuse blocks.
