I recently purchased a Minneapolis moline model R. What are the different varieties of the R and how are they different ? Can you just have a plain R ?

You should look on the "Serial Numbers" link on the left side of the page. That wil tell you all the models that were made. Look at the serial number tag on the right side of your tractor to the rear of the bell housing - that should tell you what type of R you have.

i can try to think of some, RTU was a tricycle front end, RTI was the industrial model,RTN was one with only a single front wheel, and RTS had the wide front.I would say there are definatley more RTU's as far as normal goes. I also think there was a hood change in 47 from the slots to an open design. Hope this helps, feel free to ask more. Toby.

Toby got them all correct . But have to add one more model: RTE, Wide adjustable frt. end . My records show about 1200 RTE s made from 1948 thru 1953
