Corn turning brown?

I see a lot of the corn around central NY has turned brown already, almost like it has been hit with frost. I’m sure it hasn’t though so what is causing it. I only have a little acre patch but mine is still green as can be.

It's simply mature. Normal occurance.

Some corn matures in 70 days, some in 130. Depends on what was planted.

I have a friend on the CT river in southern NH whose corn is turning brown in patches due to the drought. Like you say it looks like it was hit with frost.

Going to finish picking corn tomorrow. That is what happens when it doesn't rain in August.Earliest I have ever finished in 51 years of farming on my own.Yields are about average.
