The larger the shed, the more junk I accumulate.

I finally decided to clean and straighten out my shop/storage building, mainly because I have filled it up and can no longer walk around without moving something. I took 3 days off work to get it done. It is 30 x 50 feet, so how long could it take. Well, it's now the end of the 3rd day and I still have a long ways to go. I have a pickup full of scrap metal, a pile of scrap wood that will make a huge bon fire and 10 dead mice that were making my shed their winter home.
Where did all this stuff come from? I guess I'm lucky I didn't build a larger shed. I would of fill that up too. LOL

It's a sickness..... Messy syndrom.you should seek counseling and have someone else empty your shop so you can start over......

Let me know if that works for you and maybe I'll try it

My shop is 30x40 with an upstairs and it is all full. Then I had a 20x15 shed that I finally enclosed and promptly filled up...along with the new 15x20 shed that I built to replace the one I enclosed. My next project is going to be another shed close to 30x30 which I know will be pretty much full as soon as I get it done just by making room in the other areas......YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MUCH ROOM AND IF YOU DO YOU'LL SOON FILL IT WITH STUFF AND WISH FOR MORE.........

It is ,,to a degree . My dad is a pack rat ,big time . I had hoped it would skip a generation but don't look like it . I try to keep my shop clean , customers always remark how clean it is . There are days I look around and wonder "Where did all this @rap come from ? " Time to Purge !! It really makes a person feel good to get rid of unused /unneeded stuff . Very hard to do but I force myself once a year . Last time loaded most of it up and took to swap meet , came home with empty truck and fat wallet . Little incentive for the next time .

Ya know what you mean getting close to winter so it is a bout time to find the shop again so if and when I do need to work on something in the cold I can do so where it is warm. Funny how over the summer the shop fills up with junk so you can not get any thing in it and this time of year you have to clean it out so you can use it again. Oh by the way if you get bored you can come clean mine next LOL

I agree. I like to part stuff out and fix and store but is does the soul good to clean and sell a bunch now and then!

I think we're gonna need some pictures of those hot rods............some tractors too :D

Mine's 42x60, and there's a path through the middle that forks halfway across LOL
5 cars, my Deuce dump truck, and 5 motorcycles inside, 7 more cars and all the tractors outside, another garage and two sheds with "pathways"- sheesh
Cleanup, Aisle 27...

40 x 64 and I work outside! 16 tractors wedged inside with 4 cub cadets pluse upstairs for light stuff. Sometimes when I can't find something bigger I go in the upstairs and look down to search. I want a lean-to but my wife says just get rid of some of the $hit instead "it can't all be good" she says.

Never knew my grandfather, but from the walls in the 10 outbuildings, I assume he, as my dad, as I, were all packrats.

3 days??? Three months wouldn't get me very far....

This thread makes me feel better about my mess. Now I can procrastinate longer since I know I am not the only one with stuff stored ceiling high in my shop.
