Today while I was walking around my orchard I spotted some kids digging a hole on a bare spot of the property. I walked over there and low and behold they were two of the very same kids I teach on a daily basis. For you guys that don't know I'm a high school teacher. Well as I walked up on them they were startled to see it was me and went on to say "We didn't know this was your place Mr. ******. We had a short discussion about the respect they should give for a man's property with me commenting on how they would like it if I would merely walk in their home and start moving their things around. After a five minute discussion I had them fill the hole back in and gave them something to drink and sent them on their way. I really hope they "get it" now.

Sounds like you handled that situation well. Hopefully they "get it", and I can't think of a better way of helping them to understand.

(quoted from post at 01:06:35 10/03/10) My main question would be what were they going to bury?

I think they were making a ramp for their bikes. I guess they figured I wouldn't have a problem with a big hole and stacked dirt.

Hummm? Bare spot? Were they digging up what they buried before? Why is it bare.
Guess thats none of my business.

Let me clarify on this. It's a very large spot where we don't have anything planted. However I do wonder now.
