I was interested in getting a UTV or utility vehicle I was really interested in the kawasaki Mule 4010 regular 2011 4X4 2 seater model I heard from somebody that some of them are problems with water pumps and different things so I thought I wouls see what everybody else says

"02 kawasaki diesel mule, . broken crank, Kawasaki fixed it even after it was out of warranty,(they had problems with some) 1 new belt. 3000 mi hard farm use. uses about 1 gal of diesel per 3-4 hrs work. take it away from me over my dead body.

Look at the rtv 900 Kubota,, Power steering , hydrostatic drive, no belt to replace. Kubota desiel engine you will love it.

We had a '04 4x4 Kawasaki mule. Ran great. We now have an 08 Kubota RTV 900. Runs great, better mileage, more noise, power steeting is great, shifting the trans is clunky and awkward, you you have to yank a crazy knob to release trans pressure to go between gears. That is really my only complaint, and it is a big one.

I"m on my second Polaris 6x6 big boss. Had the first one for 10 years and didn"t do anything to it other than mormal maintenance. Sold it to the neighbor and had to put a new carb on it for $300.

Bought a 2009 model and it is a lot better than the old one. It has independent suspension (which makes it more stable on sidehills) and more HP. I like the Big Boss because it is a little narrower then the Ranger and I can jump off it a lot easier then the Ranger. Yes, I did have all six wheel up in the air one time with the 1997 model.

You want to take a look at Japanese "kei" trucks. These will do anything a UTV will do but cost less to run and maintain plus you get a heated cab and highway speeds. I have a Daihatsu Hijet that is legal for road use in Canada. 5sp high/low range push button 4 wheel drive with diff lock. Gets 40 mpg snapping around town and 30 mpg with a 1000lb load. Cost me $6000 safetied and ready to insure. There are lots of guys importing and selling them in the US parts are no prob. Seriously take a look, you couldn't get a better farm truck - I sold my F150.

I'm with a couple others here. I just bought a Kubota rtv 900 and it's really nice. It still has a few things I don't care for but overall I'd certainly buy one again.

Difficult to get them on the road legally here in the States. A UTV one can get DNR & Farm-Use plates for & run it doen the shoulders.

Ranger is real popular around here. Little faster, little higher, seats 3, seems to last.

We love our HPX Gator. Not cheap , but runs circles around a 4 wheeler. . That Jap minitruck is great , ON THE ROAD. You got gumbo like we do you best get 4 wheel drive. Those mini trucks have turf tires usually. Not an all terrain type vehicle.

a neighbor has one of the little trucks. He saved a bunch of money by getting the 2wd gasoline version but it will go about anywhere he needs to with a load on (we have plenty of access roads). He has a little winch and carries a twist in anchor pin in case he gets stuck somewhere. Dump bed is nice (back, left, or right dump).
