Our hobby farm (Warning Pic Heavy)

We had a good year on our little 65 acre farm here in NW PA. Thought I might share some photo's. Hope you enjoy.

Nice set up you have there except for one item.

I think your elevator is missing a couple of paddles :)^})

Looks like it was a fun year. The way the 2nd pic is cropped makes it look like it came right out of an old photo album.

Just curious what do you use your corn for? I was thinking of planting an acre or two my self to feed to my pigs and maybe are cows. You think its okay to feed it on the cob.

Not to worry about those paddles, there's plenty to get that corn up, and for those bales. Best thing I ever bought was a double chain 32' elevator. Saved sooo much work!

Man, you are living my dream! That's EXACTLY the sort of thing I'd do if I hit the Magabucks.

Good for you, and thanks for the pictures!

And BTW, in about 1963, I WAS the kid in the red sweatshirt kicking the ear corn outta the gravity wagon.

Of course, it was usually mid-November, colder'n a well-digger's back pockets and blowin' wet snow at the time...

Ground ear corn is one of the best way to feed earcorn to bovines.Hogs will eat the grain and leave the cob sort of sound like you have lots to learn before you get started.

Thanks for all the kind comments. It keeps us busy.

That kid in the corn wagon is my wife!!! lol...

We use the ear corn to grind chop for the cows and sheep we have. We can't feed it to the pigs for some reason they do not like the cobb.

Nice pics!

I believe God has opened the door and James & I will be able to move to the farm soon.

I can't wait to be out of Dallas.

Great Pictures! It"s sure is handy to have those young bodies to help putting up those small square bales.

Great pics, really enjoyed them. One question, why do you put the bales on the ground to be picked up.Why not pull the wagon behind baler.Lot of extra work I think.

Iffin I hit the mega-bucks, I'd keep right on farmin' 'til it were all gone!

Iffin Dolly Parton were a farmer, she'd be flat busted too!

Interesting tire on the baler. Where do you get all the helping hands for the bale hauling? I did almost all of mine singlehandedly this summer!
