Frank, thanks for the information on the turkey cooker. In addition, how long does it take to cook a bird? In oil a 12 pound bird is about 45 min. I think. All the videos don't mention that time frame, so I assumed it takes alot longer.

Cook each lb between 3.5 - 4 minutes.

I got one of those oil-less turkey fryers for Christmas last year, used it for the first time on Thanksgiving. Worked great. Instructions said about 10 minutes per pound, actually took about 2 hours for a 14 lb bird.

I liked the idea that you can rub spices on the bird's skin, which you can't do in oil, plus it's a lot safer with no oil.

usually about 2 hours for a 14 lb turkey, it comes with a meat thermometer uyou leave in the turkey to tell when its is done. I think it uses less gas, the burner doesn"t run as hard as a regular fryer. depends on how many times you don"t have to buy oil as to how you much save. I figure this year it has paid for itself
