Okay, got the new HP Laptop up n purrin like a kitten in a creamery n shes fine n fast only one problem. I used POP3 Outlook Express E Mail on the old Desktop but now have to use Windows Live Mail on the new Windows 7 Laptop.

Trouble is all my new incoming mail gets sent automatically to the "Deleted Items" Folder instead of the "Inbox" as it should. YES Ive looked at and checked and rechecked EVERYTHING I CAN FIND IN OPTIONS OR PREFERENCES OR RULES OR SETTINGS ETC ETC but cant find a way or check box or rule or setting to make all new incoming mail go to the INBOX as it should grrrrrrrrrrr

Ive laid hands on it n said a few naughty words but nuttin has fixed it so far and I dont have any hair I can pull out.

What or where is the magic or hidden set up or rule or preference or option so I can fix it grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Ol John T (Generally a Nerd but not enough of one to fix this so far)

Ive had such good luck with HP IM STICKIN TO EM LOL But this isnt an HP problem, its dern Windows Live Mail 7 grrrrrrrrrrr Its Bill Gates fault

Live Mail works fine on my new laptop with Windows 7 with POP 3 accounts. I've got mine setup with four of them. I can't even find an option to make it do what your's is doing. My Windows is the so-called "Home Premium 64 bit" which is bascially the cheapest version and NOT premium in any way. My Windows Live Mail is version 2009 14.0.8089

You can download Windows Mail for free, install it on Windows 7, and make it your default mail program if you want. Windows Mail is bascially just the newest Outlook Express.

I have several compatibility complaints about Windows 7, but not with the Live Mail program

The setting you have to change is . . . go to "tools", then "message rules" , then "mail."

Just change the incomimg message handling.

Hey, Google-guys didn't even know how to spell their own name correctly. That's why it's now Google - a mispelling of what it was supposed to be - Googol (which stands for a very high number).

Bill Gates is way out of the picture now. Just change the settings and it is apt to work fine.

From what I've seen over the years, not a lot has changed in MS programs and OS's - but much has new labels and is stuck in places not so easy to find. Like - File Manager changed to My Computer? Or, Directories changed to Folders? Or Random Access Memory (RAM) to Memory?

I also curse Intel for screwing up the standard process of naming processors. The first useful home-computer was an 86. Then, the next improvement was 2nd-86, and then 3rd-86, etc. But when they got to the 5th generation 86, Intel decided to call all of them Pentium, forever. What the heck sense does that make?

Though it's actually more of a copyright/trademark issue than a patent one--I'll leave the lawyerese to John T!

Yes, I guess so. AMD and Cyrix tried to continue with the standard naming convention but gave up around the time the Pentium II came out. When I first heard it, I was wondering if II meant 2nd generator 5X86, or double 86. It was kind of confusing.

Cyrix disappeared (I had many) by the time 6X86 was common. And AMD started making processors like "Athalon" and "Duron." So now, I'm pretty lost with trying to judge names and numbers.

My new cheap desktop computer I just bought has an "Athlon II X2 255(3.1GHz)." Whatever that actually is, it works great and I'm satisfied.

Windows Live Mail that comes with Windows 7 is what is on my new laptop.

That "message rules" is where your computer can be custom tailored to send any mail into any folder. If the boxes are blank, then that's not your problem.

Microsoft offers Windows Mail (took the place of Outlook Express) for people who'd rather have it with Windows 7 instead of Live Mail. I've got two Windows 7 machines here. One has Live Mail and the othe Windows Mail ver. 6. Both work fine with POP 3 accounts.

Are you sure that your "saftey options" isn't set up wrong? If set wrong, it will send all incoming mail into your "junk" folder. To work correctly, you need it set to eithter "low", or "no automatic filtering."

Go to "tools", then "saftey options."

Thanks JD, I think I may have it fixed......

In Options there was a box checked....Use deleted folder for IMAP accounts.....I have a POP 3 E Mail Server (NOT web based e mail) and I think its an IMAP soooooooo maybe it was sending my mail to Deleted (thats sure where its ending up)

Only thing is what it was actually doing was it was coming to INBOX first but then after I read/opened it later it got sent to Deleted Folder

I will know in just a bit as I get more e mails

Thanks JD I will let yall know

I brought a new Dell home last Fri. It has Windows 7 but as I had used Outlook before I had the new MS Office 2010 installed and love the new Outlook 2010

Looks like I made a good choice with my new Toshiba laptop with W7- after dealing with Windows Mail on my desktop with Vista (still liked XP Professional best- but they can't leave good alone) the Windows Live Mail just didn't sound appetizing- so I finally tried Thunderbird, to go with my Firefox browser that works so well- never set anything up so easily or quickly, and NO problems whatsoever, working great, and took 10 minutes to set up
