OK,
I stopped to look at the WD45, made a deal on the AC model C.
Then, he tells me this Case 830 is goin' to scrap.
(See Case forum).
So, I made a deal on that.
Sunday, went for more pics.
(It's ALL old's fault) lol
He told me of a truck he had south of there.
This is not the one he was talking about,
he has several, but-----
when he called me back today I made a deal on this Chevy.
I'm done, for quite some time now.
Better not mention anything at all, if I want to stay married.
She's okay so far, but I'm not about to try to push any further.
Two old tractors and an old truck in one weekend???
I've wanted one of these trucks forever, its a 49 or 50, he's got to check the title to be sure.
At least I'm happy, and my neighbors are willin to help fetch that, too.
I hope the pic comes thru:

old is entirely innocent!
he just wanted some pics of the belly mower mounts on the Allis Chalmers C.
But once I got outta the house...

Well, ya'll know how it goes.

The gantry thing?
When I was younger, fairly common on yard trucks, etc.
Have large winch behind the cab runs off pto,
and a hook drops down from the top off the gantry,
plus support cables.
Like a crane kinda thing, very useful.
Notice the concrete ballast blocks behind the cab?
Strong winch.
We gotta pick our path to get it home,
so as not to take any lines down.
Gotta measure height, etc.
Just gotta double check, but I know the path we can take...

lotsa uses !. toward the end of their dependable life . they worked well in the junk yards, most the time chop topped .. probably whennew great for well drilling , setting caseings , Utility Poles for linenam, and log loading ECT. ,, and lets not forget wreck recovery , ect.. and perhaps even towing vehicle ... Golly Don you better ease up yer BY-n , or else you might have to live in that truck !.. if ya got a wife like mine . BTWay , I have a nice good Ol'1958 Viking Chevy Grain truck 283 sweetheart sitting in theweather right now ...waiting for a fair Home ...

"good Ol'1958 Viking Chevy Grain truck 283 sweetheart sitting in theweather right now ...waiting for a fair Home ..."

Come on now, help me out...
No...no....no.
You eyeballin' my place and wantin' to buy after she gets it in the divorce???
I'm done.
UNLESS I can get a deal on a sweet lookin'/runnin' late 60's Camaro or Firebird,
STRICTLY for HER.
NOPE, even repairs have to wait once I get 'em all home.
Gotta have hope and dreams, tho.
Probably only reason she's lettin me get by with it...

Yup. We started out with my dad"s 1948 JD A. Now we have 3 A"s, 4 70"s, 3 MT"s, 1 M, and 3 B"s.

We ran out of room about 3 tractors ago and have been encroaching on the hay barn as a place to park tractors.

Real hard to stop when you come across a nice one at a good price.

LOL guess my fewer has been passes on to many others. See my next post about my next project that my partner is inflicting on me. I just about think I am getting to the point I can take a day off then some one else has to throw a money wrench into thing. Yes you can blame me till you have more junk then I do. Oh to say you have more you need to come find my place way out at 40th and plum

My 2nd wife told me when I bought the 1st tractor if I buy another one there would be a divorce. Well she lied, it took about 11 more along with about 5 trucks, 3 or 4 trailers, 7 dogs and a few other odds and ends before she started the divorce. I sure miss my dogs, but girl friend bought me another dog and goes with me and very helpful while looking to buy other tractors. By the way nice find on the boom truck, I would like to have one of those myself.

That is one heavy duty boom/pole truck.

Never seen one with that much "framework".

Get it running and use it to pick up both tractors you bought.

Unlimited possibilities for that old boom/pole truck.

Thanks for sharing your photo with us.

We gotta cut some trees to get it out,
but towards the front, once we get the truck outta there,
there'll be a permanent indentation of the front bumper in that larger tree.
As that tree grew, it even knocked the headlight out, lol.
Nice tree, didn't even crack the glass...lol

Gotta get me some more pics before the "move"

Thank you all, be awhile for we can get it moved.
Wish I could have 'em all home today,
patience is a virtue???
What does virtue mean???

I don't know, only been sittin there 30 years,
just might be a "turn-key" vehicle with a little air in the tires...
(yeah I know split rims be careful or die)
