Animal Cruelity ...... Where's My Gun ????

Local news report of a case of animal cruelty here in Kentucky . How can anyone treat an animal like that ? I know that we kill animals for food ,but it's done for a necessary reason in a humane way ,with instant death ( hopefully ) so no suffering . I'd like to find this person(s) and treat them the same way .

Yes, I know that this post will probably anger animal lovers and recieve replies that will get it deleted ,but I posted it in order to raise awarness of animal cruelty .

Anyone that would do that to a dog, needs their own mouth duct taped for a year or so. Maybe they would see the light just before dehydration or starvation.

True , but if you think that was bad , and it was , we have cable tv here so someone else may have seen it, but I was watching a show about cruelty to animals and there was one case somewhere in the U.S. ,I believe where someone took a small beagle sized dog and stuch a fork into the top of its head penerating its brain . The dog survived walking around with a fork sticking out the top of its head until someone caught it and took it to the vet . As far as I know the dog is still alive. As far as side effects from I don't know either , but I'd sy that there was .

If your talking about the same thing I was on TV the other week, this whole incident was an accident. The dog was a Chihuahua, and was messing around under a grill((((probably looking for a hand out as dogs do)))) when the fork got knocked off. Due to the top of a Chihuahua's head being like that of a human baby and the joints in the skull not being fused together the fork was able to penetrate that 'soft spot' just from force of the fall. The folks who owned the dog immediuately took it to the vet who did surgery to remove the fork. Fortunately the dog was just find when it woke up other than one eye was a bit droopy looking or whatever you want to call it.

Hey! Im from the Philly area, Like in Phila Eagles football. If you ask "Did you hear about those dogs being abused yesterday?" They will answer "Did you see that touchdown Michael Vick got yesterday".

This sort of stuff happens routinely in Michigan. In Pontiac, abused pit bulls don't even make the news. This recent report is remarkable only because it happened in Lansing.

I agree that taping the mouth of the animal shut was a horrible cruelty. Shoot, shovel, and shut up would have been much better.

I really really wish we knew the other side of the coin. Did this dog bite a child and the father did this to the dog? Did the dog continually get into trashcans dumping them everywhere for weeks on end until someone got to fed up they resorted to this cruel action?

What a lot of dog issues boils down to comes from irresponsible pet owners and their lack of action from controlling barking to whatever.

Yes, I know this will create ill will toward me but I get tired of everyone else' so called pets. There were 11 barking dogs on the city block I live on. Four finally left with the owner. Good riddance to all of them, owner and dogs.

I have a neighbor that never feeds hay to his horses and when he does feed them grain he pours out a 50 lb bag of it and then maybe a week or so latter with do it again. The me that is not right but that is what he does even though he sees all the others around him feeding hay. That includes when there is 4 plus inches of snow on the ground not a lick of hay

Rowan County isn"t all that far from me. Sad thing is, here in the mountains, a lot of animal cruelty goes unnoticed. My county, Johnson, doesn"t even have an animal shelter. We ship all of our strays to another county"s shelter. A few years ago, it was on the local news that a local county run shelter was disposing of their dogs and cats by taking them out back and shooting them. They had the video to prove it. Problem was the guy doing the shooting was using a .22 pistol and was having entirely to much fun. No one shot kill going on there.....

Roy, I'm guessing that there is alot more to the story other than a pit bull that came up to the cops to lick their faces and get petted---then the bad cops started shooting the friendly family dog.

My son had two big police dogs that would not hurt a flea. He had his head up his rear end, as I took my young son up to the fence to prt the puppies. When my older son was not around, those dogs would kill anyone they could get at.

I know of several places that our EMS team will simply wait inside the ambulance if there is a 911 call. Our job description does not cover being bitten by a dog that goes balistic when a siren or flashing lights scares them. Once the cops get the dog under control, we will try to make up lost time as best we can.

I have addressed this issue with several of the dog owners stating our protacal, and the dogs are still there, so you simply can not fix stupid sometimes.

My other son was bit three different times on my ex-wives lawn by the neighbors big dog. The dog had bitten a total of twelve people before something happened to the dog one night.

The last time the big dog bit my son, he carried him about seventy five feet by my sons ham. We were so lucky the dog did not shake his head.

A woman was out walking , lost her arm to a pit bull attack.Ive done animal control, there are some dangerous dogs.

It"s my belief that it"s because they are so

A shool teacher brought a tiny dog to school for the kids to see. One child asked if she could pet the dog, and the answer was yes. Thirteen stitches later, and probably some skin grafting afterwards. I think her eye will make it, but not certian at this point.

On a interesting note, have youever heard about the PETA adoption percentage? I have that web site somewhere. I think I read, (not certian) in 2009, they adopted nine animals. The rest were destroyed.
