Thanks everyone for the good wishes and the suggestions I enjoy what everyone has to say. I will include some pictures as we begin moving and doing a few improvements. At the moment I have misplaced my camera...great timing. I have been in this game awhile now and we have a mid sized operation. I too am in the boat that this is a buyers market, the fixed interest rates we got are extremely favorable. Yes we went into debt, but I am starting from scratch, so that is the only way this is possible, I could have waited to hobby farm when I retired, but this is the life I want to lead and if I start now I can accomplish my goals with a little sweat and hard work...that is the American Dream. Agian, thanks everyone for your replies! -God Bless America and the men and women who make her great!

Eric, againCongrats.I have struggled, starved and been broke(still am).I could have worked a good paying job,but this is what I want to do(my wonderful wife encourages me)We will "keep on fighting "
doing what we love. You and yours do the same-dont ever give up,even when it seems i mpossible.Good luck and God bless!

You need tree things to be a sucessful farmer now days. 1)you need a tractor. 2)you need a cell phone. 3)you need a wife with a damn good off farm job.

Eric,You will hit snags but that is what will make you stronger.Talk things thru with wife and work together.WE did the exact same thing as you are doing. My wife was raised on main street in town. BIG change for her.GP

Eric,
I congratulate you on your decision to go for your dream. When I was young and had the opportunity, I elected to leave the farm for the security of a steady income. I have regretted it every since. Best of luck to you and your wife. God bless you both.
