I have been wearing Red Wing lace ups for years-- lately been having some pain on the top of my feet I think from the laces. What are you guys wearing?--- Thanks!

Most comfortable boots I have ever owned, no pain, super comfy.............The Wolverine with Gore-tex.
The soles are super soft rubber and I can walk, stand in them all day. And I am a Toolmaker on my feet 8 hours per day running a Bridgeport or Lathe.

Been wearing Red Wing 'Pecos' Pull on boots for near twenty years. 11" tall. Made in USA, even. Neatest thing is this is my third pair and is the exact same size as the first. No foot pain at all. Just oil 'em up about once a month.

In the winter I wear slip ons now, just so much easier. I now wear those slip on Muck boots all winter long, just too comfortable, warm, and water proof for me to want to wear anything else.

Justin slip-on. Never had to break a pair in. Wore Red Wings for years, started working shut downs (turn arounds) and couldn"t walk & break them in on the job.

Are you Diabetic? If so, suggest be examined for foot nerve neuropathy. It is very constant and painful,no cure,If medication is not taken regularly I suffer from violent foot pains, pins and needles feeling, itchy feelings and almost mega cramps all from type 2 Diabetes all at the same time it seems. My medication controls it ,600mg of Gabapentin 2 capsules,100mg of Cilostazol, a pill, taken twice a day.The diabetes caused PAD in my legs[a narrowing of the arterys]which caused decreased blood supply to my feet which caused the nerve problem.I have been treated for 20 years for this and get along well if I take my medicine as I should. In answer to your question, for many years I wore Wolverine 8" lace ups with a flat soft rubber sole. The greatest for constant moving around on the concrete floors in a Nuclear Power plant.I usually bought them at TSC at Princton ILL.Good Boots.JH

golly,, hope i don't get that bad , but seem to be headed that way . brother had both his ft operated on,(big toe s ), Dr. claims it is heriditary . i wear slip ondry rubber mudder boots and somtimes double up on socks when sloopy out , when froze or warm i wear slip on low tops , got at least 6 pairfrom poor condition to new , have good lace hitop work shoes if job warrants it , but shy away if not necessary ,, slip ons are nice when my sara wants to keep the house nice and i need to come in for sumthin , just kick them off outside and sock it on in the house feet sweat and hurt in after long hours in leather shoes ,, usually swap shoes out after 6hrs to a different pair for ease and comfort ,, key is to keep the feet dry,, Dad and uncles always warned against trench ft ,, lucky for me, so far i never had to suffer thru hardships and combat like they did ...

You don't have to lace them as tight as they go. I've tried slip ons but didn't like them. The same reason I don't like wearing cowbow boots for long periods. When your pant leg goes over the boot, the top of the boots is constantly rubbing against your leg when you walk. I find that annoying and don't want to wear socks that go halfway up my leg. With lace up boots you can tighten them up as much or as little as you want to get the desired comfort without them rubbing on your leg. I like work boots that are light instead of the big clod hoppers some guys wear. Dave

Summer, Red Wing lace up logger boots. In the winter pull on Northerners, not insulated unless it's below 10F. Below that a pair of pull on rubber boots with 1200gm thinsulate.

Irish Setter 3/4 top Wingshooters!!!!!!!!!!! They are so comfortable I have a pair for work and another pair I wear for my day job as a teacher.

I dont know.
My Wolverines are 2.5 years old now and the bottoms are worn down but not split, tore or cracked.

I changed from lace up to slip ons 3 years ago and won"t ever go back... i wear Blundstones, out of Australia, best boots i"ve ever bought, into my 3rd year on the steel toed ones... never had boots last that long before...

last time I bought red wings is the LAST time i will spend my $ on their junk, made in china crap but they still charge made in U.S.A. prices they aer uncomfortable and the soles are the slipperiest no slip soles ever just pitifull,I dont know how they stay in buesness or who would spend any money on them I have been buying Rockeys or hi tec magnums great boots light weight lace ups comfortable out of the box

I currently have a pair of US-made lace-up Red Wings, and they're quite comfortable. But you do have to make sure you get boots that fit. Most shoe stores only carry D width shoes; if you have wide or narrow feet you're going to have problems. I special-order my shoes through the local store to get the right size.

My favorite pull on boots are Chippawa(sp?)they last forever and are REAL comfortable. I have high arches and these boots don't bother me at all. Most of the time, for working around my place I wear military boots that I get from my son, can't get more comfortable than that.

Got real bad ankles, so it's lace up for me. Oddly, a logger heel seems more stable to me. Wearing a pair of Rockys Loggers now that are pretty decent. Nothing like the old Red Wings, Chippewas or Hermanns we could get back in the 60's though.

Loosen the laces a little!

I wear the very same boot as you - Red Wing lace-ups - steel toe. Mine hurt if I cinch 'em too tight.

Also have two pairs of Red Wing pull-ons - but they are dress boots for church and funerals.

Try using Boric Acid Powder in your shoes and socks.
Will feel like sand at first then you won't feel it at all after a few minutes.Your feet will stay dry and will not hurt or smell.

Red Wing still makes USA made shoes. You will not find them at the farm supply stores like TCS,Farm and Fleet. You need to go to a shoe store and they will have them or can order them for you.

Lace up Cat brand. I like the Indiana style, 8 eyes. I've got a pair with and two pair without steel toes. Best, most comfortable boots I've ever had.

For years I wore Red Wing Policeman shoes for
everyday..but they changed them, I guess. The
last pair I got started to fall apart after just
one week..sewing came apart..I took them back
and got a refund. And...I bougt them from the
Red Wing factory outlet at Red Wing Minnesota!

well I got the redwings at the shoebox,it is a good shoe store they mesured my feet and all of that BUT the ones that I got were made in china and are awfull and Ill bet that more of them will be out there as the U.S. made ones get used up,are they still made here? $130.00 + for boots I cant stand to wear just pizzez me off
