Cab sides whadaya think???

Hey folks,
after winter is about passed, it's time to put sides back on my cab

I don't like the way the sides fasten because they are somewhat universal and don't look the best and collect dirt and mud.

Need opinions:

option 1: strap the sides I have back in place and live with it.

2: Make a frame to stretch the original sides to and put them in place.

3. Make the sides out of 3/4" plywood, then cut a big opening and cover it with plexiglass.

Have the plywood on hand. Also have the original sides but one "window is shot and the other you can't see through.

My idea is the plywood cut to match the fenders with hooks for the top and a couple angle brackets on the fenders with wingnuts or hood pin type fasteners. for easy removal and just paint it to match the canvas on the roof.

Here's what I have to work with....

Right now, I have just the top and windshield. If I don't get sides back on so the dogs can go with me, they're gonna disown me.....

Thanks for any ideas.

Dave. You have 90% done. Sides should be patterened from the canvas to 3/4" plywood. Windows aren't any thing to make. Channels included. If your not so good. look for Old Broken camper shell windows and use em for the tractor sides. Plexiglas in 1/4" thickness will do. Holes can be made for the drawer pull(to open windows)using a heated nail to drill through the Plexiglas without shattering it.
I tried to draw it but not such a good Rembrant.Hope this helps . It will turn out as good as Old Ugly,(with a coat of paint lol.

Me too...Can be a little more creative with wood also. Thinking about PVC strips for the back. Got them on a couple of horse stalls and they are block wind but can be reached thru etc. Think I'm gonna keep it so may as well fix it right.

could maybe use the back side window off one of those mini vans that tilt out just frame it in wood like ya say hinges are bolt through the glass.
tinted windows would make cab a bit cooler in the sun.

I like Lou's idea , but sliding together would maybe scratch them. but is an easy fix.

One strange to me I see you have a FEL and a side sickle bar mounted at the same time .

Since yer gonna keep it and maybe planning to throw a bit of paint on it I'd burn the gran on the plywood and varnish it -- Makes a nice two tone finish that no other would have over there .

Maybe you could quit your day job and build them for others ??--- LOL

FEL frame and mower bolt to the same holes. Both are off now. FEL goes back on soon but haven't decided about the mower.

Another whadaya think???................

I have my drum mower, never learned to use the sickle mower, and it catches a lot of mud.

BEt It'S PAID FOR.IS YOURS ? OR DO YOU HAVE A TRACTOR? Wonder if you ever had overloaded work schedule? So be nice.
LOU.

Roy. Your right. never gave it a thought about scratching . Sure would in time if it were to be made to slide. Your idea has a lot of merit. There has to be some wrecking yards or a neighbor hood collector who has a usable window selection.Knowing the luck of Dave, I want him to give me the lotto numbers. lol
LOU.

Gotta stay with a slider... You've never seen the way my dog looks at me when she's inconvenienced or uncomfortable (me opening a window).........

You came here asking for opinions and he gave you his , everybody cant have the same opinion as you .
