tricks for killin gophers in florida.

father-n-laws had gophers for a few years at his daytona area home. He's tried everything and can't get rid of them. He lives in a subdivision so dynamites out of the question, heh heh heh.... Any ideas?

There is a guy in Montana the has a trap that works. Don't remember the name of the company off hand but that trap works. Bud

Here is my Gopher and mole getter. She cleaned out all of them around here.

I don't really know. The Humane Assoc. brought their tractor full of rescue animals to a tractor show last October and this one followed me home. She is a really good dog and loves to hunt. Does she look like a southern black mouth cur?

a garden hose in one hole and an empty gallon jug shoved in the other hole. Turn on the water and watch what pops up!

I suppose being in a subdivision puts rifle practice in the same category as the dynamite....
A .25-06 with frangible 87 grain Hornady's really does a number on gophers... probably a bit loud for the neighbors. Might get by with a .22 loaded with shorts, though that will limit your range.

Run a flex pipe from the exhaust of your truck or lawnmower into one of the open burrows, seal it with dirt and run the engine for an hour or two. Dead in the burrow, no carcasses to git rid of or smell. I used an old pickup with a manual choke and richened up the mixture a bit, worked like a charm.

wanna rent the dog?
LOL, If it was up to her she would sure volunteer!! She loves to hunt. She's trying to learn how to climb trees now so she can get to the squirrels.

Can you buy gass bombs there in Florida?
They look like a 1/4 stick of dinomite. Their quiet and very affective.
I have to sneek across the border to NH. to get them.

You must mean armadillos don't you? I have lived in North and Central Florida for 64 years and never have seen a Gopher. You better not be talking about gopher tortoises cause the game and fish officers will be you new best friends if you kill a protected species!!!

Definitely has some AMStaff blood in her. Tell you one thing if you ever tie a lead on that collar , that collar ain't going to be around very long. That's on powerful dog.

Mix chlorine bleach and ammonia cleaner and pour down their holes. Mix about half and half. Mix outside just before you pour it in their holes. It makes ammoniun chloride gas which will poison them in their dens. Do not breathe the gas.

well wife said to ask "the tractor guys" about getting rid of gopher/moles. Forgot the mole part which is what he has. thanks for all the ideas

Just bought one of these on CraigsList, but haven't tried it yet. Another company (Rodenator) does the same thing.
I've watched videos of them and they are EXTREMELY effective. The tunnel collapses and the concussion kills the critter instantly (no pain).
It does make a pretty good pop though.
Can't wait to use it.

Local fellow had a similar outfit. Problem is that no one is quite sure about the location of all the tunnels. This fellow singed his eyebrows several times and had some close calls with explosions under where he was standing. He sold his!
