Light Guide Bar Questions???

Any of you guys use a light bar?? I'm looking at a 3 year old Tee Jet Centerline 220 Light bar set up. He is asking $550 for it. I need something better than the foam markers for spraying Roundup. I see a new Centerline 220 on E Bay for about $950. How long do these things usually last before they are unreliable or cost too much to keep working? Will they last very long on a tractor without a cab?? It will be in the shed every night, but exposed to lots of dust. Might try planting with it also. No experience with one, but they sound like they are easy to use. Any thoughts??? Thanks, Chris

i cant say Im real familiar with that set up. I use outback guidance in all my tractors but one. They are very user friendly and save you a lot of wasted time overlapping. There a little tricky to get set for plantin sometimes. Im not sure how it would do on an open cab with all that dust or how well you would be able to see it. Ive had the outbacks Im usin for about five years and still goin strong. They tell us that we need to try and get them updated every year cause the satellites change sometimes.

My neighbor has a Tee-Jet of some sort in his spray truck. He says he likes the feature where you can look for coverage skips before you leave the field.

How about mounting it in one of the old-style fender mounted radio boxes?

Dad has one. I think all I'd trust it for is spreading dry fert. I've ran the old Trible lightbars and drive a stick straight line no problem. With dads CL220 I look back and see that I'm still weaving more than I'd like. Could be where dad has his reciever located. I'm working on getting him to move it from the nose of the tractor to over the cab. As is, I'd say not good enough to spray with and no where near good enough to plant with.
