You would be better off if you keep it tuned up and adjusted.
My 50 Cub "6 volt" starts anytine, Rain or shine - hot or cold. It lives outside with just a canvas over the hood.
If it starts hard now, 12 volt will not help.
 
john: do as you wish, before you change over, look at some of the past threads on all sites, some have had trouble when they do. it a 50/50 everything goes smooth. i have four 6v tractors, I"ve goon thru starter and genny if needed, with good batt,cables etc, starts with no problems. the money you spend on conversions, can repair/replace what needed to make org start fine. just my $.02 worth
