Young Engineer Looking To Make His Mark.---Pics.

Adirondack case guy

Ran across this guy crossing a county road Friday. There are no streams adjacent to the road, but lots of swampland all around. Must be he/she was moving out of the nest. This was the closest I've been to a one of these dam builders since my dad and I ran a trapline 55 years ago.

They brought beaver onto the proving ground where I worked back in the 1970's. It didn't take them very long before their dams started flooding the roads. They also chewed down all the trees. When they flooded the test coarse where we ran drawbar pull tests on Army vehicles
they started trapping them and moving them. Still didn't stop the flooding. Here's the heavy mobile field dynamometer we used. Hal

I thought you were going to show us a picture next of you literally having "run across him"!
The only one I've seen must have slipped into the lock at the north end of Cayuga Lake in the off season. It would slap and dive, but didn't have any place to go! I've wondered how long it lasted in there.
