db2 stanadyne injection pump

1) Did you remove the ring the blades run in??? Reason I ask is it can go in either way. One way is for Clockwise rotation and the other is Counter clockwise. Wasted half a day on one I did that way.
2) Is the fuel level above the injection pump? DB2 pumps will not lift fuel very far or very well. Especially with new vanes in them. When the wear in the match the outer ring they will a little better. That pump in not really made to suck fuel. Its main job is to pressurize the main pump. I have had to pressurize the fuel tank while cranking them . I usually just take a rag and blow off nozzle in the fuel filler. I set my Compressor regulator at 10 psi so not to blow out the tank ends.
3) Check the check valve built into the inlet fitting. I have had them get debris in them that was not a problem until they ran low/out of fuel.
