(quoted from post at 22:33:40 04/26/11) We are finally getting some rain.At least that is what I think it is. Haven't seen any in so long.

Yeap, unfortunately it's coming in the form of some bad storms. I'm watching some build right now over the Corsicana area. I think it was 12 tornado sightings last night but they missed us.

Fingers crossed, grateful but crossed never the less.

We're just the oposite. I think that's the sun that's shining. Darndest thing is,the county is under a severe thunderstorm WARNING right now. Oh well,we'll take sunshine anytime we can get it these days. 'Course,it could be just one long lightning strike!

We were just getting to the point we could think about getting the plow and disk out... now can't even spread manure on sod with duals. Over an inch, and still falling... and they say it may turn white tonight...

Right after I posted that,I went out to feed my 2 bottle babies and tag and vaccinate a new calf. Got caught in the rain. When I got back in the house,we were under a TORNADO WARNING! I know it's not that big of a deal to some of you,but we had the biggest hail I've ever seen around here. Golf ball sized at least. Like I said,I know that's small in tornado alley, but we just don't get it that big around here.
No reported touchdowns, but several reports of funnel clouds. A few nervous moments for sure.

Some really ugly stuff rolling through our area this evening. Two confirmed tornadoes south of us.

We got one hard shower, but it only lasted a few minutes.

Watching the weather at the farm, too. According to weather.com we got 1.23 inches at the farm yesterday. 1.1 came in one thunderstorm, but we very much needed the rain.

Hope everyone south of here makes it through the night ok.

Nasty stuff is headed n.e. right up through Texarkana and into Ark. Some folks are going to have a very rough night.

Here in Northeast Iowa. I have had three plus inches of rain in the last week. Still light rain falling tonight.

During the winter, I'm always asking the kids in class how many have never seen snow. About half raise their hands each time. The other day, I jokingly asked how many had never seen rain. Three or four raised their hands. lol.
