I am familiar with the 574 and have owned one since it was new. The 474 that I am acquainted with seems to be the same tractor. The only obvious difference is in the Lucas electrical system on the 474. Since Lucas is known as the Prince of Darkness in the Jaguar car circles, you can understand that this is a weakness. Both tractors seems to be near mirror images as to the mechanical components, sharing the same weaknesses and strengths. Either model in decent condition should make a good tractor for the operator needing to do work requiring a 50HP machine. Given a choice I would choose the tractor with the Bosch injector with the two position fuel lever. If both have this, I would then take the 574 provided both were in equal mechanical condition.
