Since your tractor says McCormick on the side it's almost certainly the Farmall 300 (row crop) version. This normally came with the narrow front end, but wide fronts were available for it from the factory, and from aftermarket suppliers. It should also say "FARMALL" in chrome letters on the side. IH also made a "standard" or utility tractor, known as the International 300, which came only with a wide front. This one says "INTERNATIONAL" on the side. It's sometimes called the 300U. Perhaps the easiest way to distinguish between the two if the chrome lettering is missing is the rear tires. The 300U has 28-inch tires, and sits close to the ground. The Farmall 300 has 38-inch tires, and sits higher. If you search in the Gallery under Tractor Photos (left side of your browser screen) under "300", you should find pictures of both varieties. These two models use the same engine, but many of the other parts are different. Hope this helps you figure out what you have.

Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
