Danny - Assuming your H still has the stock 6 volt electricals, with the engine at full speed the ammeter should show somewhere between 2 and 4 amps with the light switch set on "L", and about 10 - 12 amps with the switch on "H". If it's discharging all the time, do the following (motor running 1/2 speed or faster and the light switch set at "H"): 1 - Take short jumper wire and connect the BAT and GEN terminals on the cutout. If the ammeter now shows a charge, replace the cutout. If it does not... 2 - Use the jumper to temporarily ground the F terminal on the generator. If the ammeter now shows charge, check for a bad ground at the light switch, a bad light switch or a broken wire in the harness between the F terminal and the light switch. (If the tractor has been converted to 12 volts, post back what kind of alternator it's got and I'll try to help)
