I just bought this tractor and the seller told me it was a Farmall A. After I bought it I found the serial number plate on the left seat support. The plate had "B" stamped under "Model" and the serial number beginning with "FAB". So, I assumed it was a model B. However, I now have learned that the model "B" tractor is like the "A" except all B's have narrow front wheels and the engine is in the middle instead of offset to the left like the A's. Well, this tractor has wide front wheels and the engine is offset to the left, so, its got to be an A, but the manufacturer's plate says its a B. Can anyone explain this discrepancy? (I don't think the plate has been changed. It looks original.)
