Check the tires and rims. Do the rims have any rust rot?? If the rear tires have to be replaced they are around $300 each. New rims are $150-200 unless you are lucky enough to find used ones. Drive it around and see if if jumps out of any gear. put it in 5th gear and hold the brakes and let the clutch out to check if the clutch is slipping. Check the steering for excess play.
