Hello guys, I'm getting a Farmall M from a friend of mine cheap. It pushed a rod through the block. He told me before that it was using oil while plowing. It then began knocking then threw the rod. I haven't seen the hole yet. I want to get the old M running but would like to know your thoughts on how to proceed. I'm not in a hurry and appreciate all of the good advice given. A) Should I find another running motor and replace it? B) If the hole isnt bad, weld/patch it and check bearings rings etc? C) Find another old engine and rebuild it? Or do you have any other suggestions? Thanks guys!
