The purpose of the hand clutch was to give the effect of live pto on farmalls. It did this by disengaging the rear wheels without disengaging the main engine clutch. This was accomplished by putting another brake shaft in the tractor that would disengage the left wheel. That allowed the differential to turn, but power was not transmitted to the wheel because of the hand clutch. You could not use the hand clutch to shift gears, it only worked for live pto. The kit was made by M&W. John C
